Eaglewood (Agarwood/Aloeswood)

Eaglewood or Agarwood is the most expensive wood in the world. It is known as Chen Xiang or wood that sinks in Chinese. It is valued in many cultures for its distinctive fragrance, and used extensively in incense and perfumes. Interestingly, the wood is formed as a result of the tree's immune response to fungal infection.

Due to its rarity and the high demand for it, Agarwood and its extracts bring high prices. Indiscriminate cutting of trees of the relevant species in the hope of finding Agarwood has resulted depletion of wild trees. It has a balancing effect on the inner organs as well as calming effect on the nervous and sense organs.

The Agarwood that we carry is from Vietnam and they belong to the category of higher grade or Agarwood that sink in water.
